Showfolio is a retired theme and its no longer maintained.
There is no question that the WordPress community has been a strong one over the years. There is also no question that the community has been supportive of the WordPress themes that have been released here over the course of that time. The great feedback received can definitely be taken as evidence of that particular fact.
As the year starts to go forward, different things will take place. There is the Suvi theme update that is going to be made available and could potentially be created as a completely separate theme. This is just one example.
What you can expect from us in 2011?
The 2011 year will see many new things coming from our site, including our framework release in addition to different types of premium business themes. We’ll also release a Restaurant theme and in the early part of the year we will make your blog look like a newspaper with another awesome Newspaper style WordPress theme. We have so many different development opportunities planned for this year that people will see all kinds of new things available to them as time goes by.
Introducing the Showfolio
Here we kick our theme release cycle with Showfolio. This is the same theme that was previously teased on both Twitter and Facebook. The Showfolio theme comes with our custom media module implemented, allowing people to display either their own hosted MP4/FLV or Youtube/DailyMotion/Vimeo streamed videos instead of post thumbnails.
Showfolio comes with a number of great other features, such as a Featured Section for posts in which you can show off some of your best work according to categories, tags or post dates.
The Content Section is aware of what is going on in the featured section and will exclude those posts from duplicate listings. With a great sidebar that allows the use of custom created widgets, and a built-in inner page slider that automatically list all uploaded photos, the Showfolio theme is definitely going to be one of the most exciting theme releases of 2011.
