LinePress is built on the latest Gabfire framework, and has a completely different layout. With LinePress, we wanted to harness the look and feel of an online newspaper, but maintain the ease of a standard blog. There are dozens of theme options to modify the site to your liking. Most importantly, you can expect the same level of thought-work put into the LinePress back-end as any of our other newspaper themes. Grab your copy today.
With over 13 separate content areas on the home page you can control from the options panel, LinePress gives you more than enough real estate to showcase your best posts across various categories.
Unlike other newspaper themes, we’ve decided to abandon the featured slider in this theme for a more subtle featured section. No fancy sliders – just highly visible content. Take advantage of the featured row to highlight the latest post from 4 different categories.
With 22 widget areas, you’ll have the flexibility to customize LinePress to look and feel exactly the way you want. The theme also includes 6 color styles which you can preview in the demo, and a section for your custom CSS.

The theme is probably the best generally-available online news theme available for WordPress. I had planned to use Gabfire news themes as the "spokes" of my news network, but LinePress enables us to use Gabfire throughout the entire network. A great job.

If you meant featured slider, we specifically didn't include it since we've used horizontal boxes at the top to display latest news.
If you meant photo slider, we have it right above video section.

Excellent and very professional WP theme. I'll consider it for potential news/media websites projects. I just wished it has different sidebars for Pages/Categories and Posts to give new looks for the website, like the latest trend in WP themes.

As of now we have different widgets for frontpage and inner pages, but good idea about post/pages Mark. We'll probably implement that option to implement into our framework. Thanks for suggestion though.

Very nice looking theme. Planning to purchase one of your newspaper themes for some news sites I have planned.
The question is… What is the difference between the capabilities of newspaper themes? For example, what is the deference between capabilities of WP Newspaper and LinePress? I like the sidebar of WP Newspaper, can the same be placed in LinePress?

There is not any different in terms of functions, all themes are same YanTheMan, the only different is their layouts.
As for sidebar tweak, that is a question related with your CSS ability, if you are not good on that, you would need to hire a developer to do that task for you
