Connect is a WordPress and BuddyPress theme for those that want to build a community around their news site. Since BuddyPress has progressed so much in the last year, we figured a theme with social networking capabilities was overdue. Besides, our community has been asking for such a theme for quite some time. Now you have it with all these features below:
The theme is fully responsive and ready for any device (table, mobile phone, etc).
Like many of our themes, Connect also has several category templates to give up your site some much needed variety. These include:
Connect has three post templates. You can decide exactly what layout a post should have. Here are examples of post layouts:
To keep things interesting, you not only have the option to turn any category menu item into a mega drop-down, but you can also embed a category-specific ad within it. During our tests, we noticed many users clicked on those ads, so let’s hope you have the same results.
As with most of our themes, one blog post is never enough to capture all the theme features.
BuddyPress’ tagline is Social networking, in a box. That’s exactly what you get with the Connect theme. Go ahead and start your own WordPress-powered social network!

When I go to buy Standard pack it says $59.00, Then it says $79.00 after that. Didn’t check the theme out to much, but was going to buy just to have in my arsenal, as I have almost all of your themes. They are always great . So just want to know what is the price?
Thanks
Tony

Hi Tony,
The price of theme is 79. It was our mistake if you have seen any 59 label anywhere on site. Sorry for the confusion.
Tony Rose Permalink
Gotcha, thanks. It was on the standard pack button. Love all your themes as you know.

LOVE the use of the middle break where you added an add with a signup section (great place to put newsletters) and the use of the top header section is spot on. As always a great theme theme.

Hi Mehmet,
it is a great theme:
have question:
1. How easy would be to “transfer” any current site into this theme?
(bp plugins?…)
Thnx
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
It is matter of installing BuddyPress plugin and upload -> activate this theme. The process is straight forward Ljuba. There is nothing complicated.

Thnx Mehmet,
One more question: “slide show” has been removed as option from posts? (or it is just not mentioned here)
thnx

Hi,
We recently had to change our domain name because our old one was purchased by someone else, so I no longer have access to that website. Because Gabfire has our URL and our Admin URL wrong (our old one, thediablodispatch.com, is incorrect), I can’t install our new theme that we just purchased on our new website, mvhsnews.com. If you could please change this information in your database for us, that would be amazing.
Thank you!
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
Feel free to use your theme on mvhsnews.com Lauren.

I like this theme very much, could I get an rtl support (Arabic) version for the same price??
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
Unfortunately we do not have RTL version of this theme Sami.

We are considering this theme for a magazine site that serves about 4 million pageviews a month. Is there any reservations regarding performance of this theme on WordPress? Would you recommend a host that uses CDN?
Does buddypress scale to a community of 100,000 or more? Would you recommend WordPress included registration or would you go to a 3rd party.
Thanks in advance
Joe

This theme does not have lots of queries on front page meaning it will work just fine for your server. We have one of our most heavy theme running on a site which gets over 3 million hits per month.
I would suggest wpengine.com for hosting. You can purchase CDN as a different service from another company. As for the number of users for BuddyPress, it is only as much as your server handles. There is no limitation Joe.
Joe Permalink
Thank you Mehmet. May I ask which theme is your most heavy and why that theme was chosen by that particular client? I guess what I’m asking is … are there features/functions we’d be missing with Connect vs another?
If we found a theme we wanted to use, but customize significantly by digging into the source code, can we do that?
Will the Gabfire team do customization for us?
Thanks
Joe

Can you add share buttons to each post whether it is an abstract on the homepage, section front or the post itself. Look at mashable for example. http://mashable.com/

Awww dayum, I just purchased the Art & Culture theme and I love it but this theme is amazing! I love the buddypress integration but like I said I just did my site over using the Art & Culture theme..I have a crazy question/request…are you guys planning on making a Art & Culture 2.0 that includes buddypress?
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
Hi Cac, unfortunately we don’t have BuddyPress compatibility for Arts and Culture on our road map.
eric Permalink
can you add facebook likes and tweets to each section and article?
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
Wouldn’t look good for the articles on header but for bottom sections, yes it can be added. We can help you with that on our support forums

Just bought the theme but having some issues. I’ve installed BBPress and activated.
The top login menu and the login after slider not showing up in Safari while it works fine on chrome and firefox.
There should be an option to allow turn off the slider if someone don’t it.
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
There are options to turn sliders off. Would you please submit that question to our support forums Shariar? We’ll help you there
Shariar Permalink
it seems there is no one to support in the forum. There is already plenty of question un-answered. I will add a question on the forum. Can you please have a look.
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
We have a very active forums Shariar. We do get a new threads opening all the time, but yet we do answer everything. If you’ve submit anything to forums, you’ll def get an answer.

It generates problem in BuddyPress. Whenever I post an updates or send bp messages, it will send twice. When I deactivate the theme, the problem goes away.
How do I fix this problem??
Mehmet Ozek Permalink
Hi So, Please submit this question to our support forums. As for this problem, it sounds like you are having an issue with one of your active plugins. Please try to deactivate your plugins and test your site with no plugins.
