The new version got an Extended Theme settings page that will let you make all the customization and configuration you want in a flash. The multilevel drop down navigation makes page navigation a cake walk. WpNewspaper v1.5 also offers category-based ads support. So now you don’t need to scratch your brains or make any software customization to make your web page ad compliant.

More than anyone else, we understand the importance of being visible in search engine results. Hence the new template has been search engine optimized for all major search engines out there on the design table itself. You don’t need anymore tampering with the design/codes to make it search engine friendly. Finally, the Localization (gettext) support and enhanced site features make the WpNewspaper v1.5 a different beast altogether than the one you’ve got used to until a few months back.

We like to keep you guessing until the update circle is completed. There are few more dots to be connected before the final version hits the market in the next few weeks. For the time being, we are keeping it a secret. Check this space regularly for all the updates!

With that said, while working on the update of Advanced Newspaper theme, we have made a decision to build our own framework and worked very hard to build a framework architecture that stands out.

Currently, we have updated Advanced Newspaper theme and Transcript theme, and here with this post, we also would like to let everyone know that we have blognews theme as well, built on our new and exciting framework architecture.

Being a firm believer that change only brings progress, we’ve made robust changes in backend at a code level, updated the theme control panel, and introduced a new slider which supports auto rotation, alongside including a multiple dropdown option with a support to new custom menus functionality of WordPress. Further, we’ve carefully re-defined the widget sections as well.

As a part of our framework, we implemented some other nice features such as,

• Inner page slider, which auto grabs all uploaded photos and display them inside post similar to featured slider.
• A very nice attachment page to display photos in posts and to increase page view of your site.
• Video and Photo gallery pages
• An advanced theme control panel

Here we are, presenting our new transcript theme to all users. We stuck to the classic front page design in the new edition as well, but the code that runs in the background have been completely revamped, to make it more efficient and robust. If to mention one latest addition, our theme now comes with our own thumbnail module that works as a combination of WordPress post thumbnail, timthumb, and videos.

Further, we got flv support, so that you could start your own podcasting network with transcript. Category based advertisement module ensures that our users won’t have any troubles when it comes to putting up ads in their websites.

We understand that not all people out there are not web designers, hence we have tried out best to incorporate this aspect into every element of our theme design. Now, even a newbie can augment the look and feel of his/her website easily from the advanced theme control panel, without having to mess with the code behind-scene.

We’ve also included a photo and video gallery module in this version of Transcript.

Earlier this year, we sat down and scratched our brains to find a solution to a tricky premise – whether to release new WordPress themes – or – to improve the functionality of our previous themes. In the end, it turned out to be a tough balancing act especially since we had great ideas and an impressive line-up of WP themes for 2010 release. Since our customers have given us such great feedback, we have implemented some new features based on your suggestions. For example, to highlight the latest posts on your site, we have decided to display a larger image for the latest post in the category / archive page, while the rest of entries are depicted with smaller thumbnails. And if that was not enough, we implemented a new Author page wherein one could find articles by a specific author including their bio and picture. Additionally, videos can now be displayed on both the featured slider and media slider located on the home page.

Given all these wonderful updates to Advanced Newspaper, we have decided to make it the official framework to build/update our other WordPress themes. Therefore, you can expect the team will be releasing updates to existing themes and launching new themes throughout 2010.

The great success of our Newspaper Theme series had encouraged us to come up with another news/magazine based theme that is clean, simple yet powerful, and fresh enough to let your content speak. Since we always wanted to know what readers would like to see in a new theme, we have taken into account their feedbacks based on a preview of the pre-release theme, and in fact had got some excellent ideas to implement into Transcript.

A large share of user feedback was in favor of including an eye catchy slider and an advertisement management module inbuilt in the Transcript. Hence, in Transcript theme, we have included an innovative advertisement module that lets users enable/disable seven different ad spots, plus a slider, which can easily set to be static/auto rotating via theme control panel. Another innovative addition to the new theme is the Media bar, which is intelligent enough to recognize whether the post is a Photo or Video news, and groups either Video or Photo to display on Media Bar of the theme at a time.

Implement Transcript, and you’ll soon realize newspaper blogging can also be lots of fun. While designing a new theme, or updating an existing one, we generally fall back on the communications we had with our clients, and take into account their valuable feedbacks in different aspects of the business. Here is a short road map of how WP Advanced Newspaper had 3 different editions in such a very short time.

Together with our latest theme, WP Advanced Newspaper theme, we have decided to do something different and ask user feedback for the layout and functionality. What we did was basically first to provide it for our WordPress Newspaper theme users only, and ask for their opinions.
